Thrive Life Summer Booking Challenge 2013

Summer Booking Challenge 2013
Last summer I offered my team a summer booking challenge.  For those that participated in it experienced a huge boost in their business.  I’ve decided to offer the same challenge again.

In 24 hours schedule 16 parties (that is 1 party per week for the next 4 four months)

Here is the action plan:
1. Choose a 24 hour period within the next week that will work for you.  You might need to find a babysitter, or send the kids to Grandmas so you have some uninterrupted quiet time, to work on the challenge.

2. Look at your summer calendar and circle all the dates you want to have filled.  You might want to double check when your summer activities will be, so you don’t schedule a party the same day as a family reunion.

3. Create a list of potential hosts.  This should go way beyond friends and family to include all your customers, q customers, past hosts, contacts from expos, people who said they wanted to host but never had a party.

I guarantee there is someone out there that has been thinking about doing a party that just hasn’t gotten around to calling or has lost your number.

4. The incentive:  All hosts that book a party during the 24 hour period will be entered to win their choice of a Harvest 72 or a Sun Oven.    This incentive is only for our team and is one of the ways I am trying to support you this summer.

5. Create a phone call note card.  This is simply a note card with an exact script for what you want to say when calling your future hosts.  It will help in calming nerves if you know what you are saying.  Here is an example of what you could say:
Hi this is ______ from Shelf Reliance. I was calling to see if you would be interested in being one of my preferred hosts.  I’m booking dates between now and ___________. For booking your show with me in this 24 hours you’ll be entered to win your choice of a  Harvest Shelf OR a  Sun Oven.   We have lots of delicious new foods for you and your friends to taste, including_________________, and  ______________________.  Would you like to join in the fun?”

6.  When they say yes and book the party.  Start coaching them right away on being a great hostess.  Here is an example of what I say.
“Great I have you down for _____________________, at _____________________.  Now I just need a little info from you.
  • Contact Info: e-mail address, phone number, address of the party, mailing address.
  • What Items would you like to earn for free from your party?
  • What food would you like me to bring.  I have a couple of options or we can customize one to fit your preference:
    • Pizza  (use Chef Todd’s pizza Recipes)
    • Chocolate  (cherry chocolate cobbler (made from brownies and FD cherries), chocolate dipped macaroons, strawberry chocolate chip cookies, etc)
    • Quick Meals (Taco Soup, Thrive Express)
    • New product sampling.
  • I need you to make up a list of about 40 people that we can send out a save the date e-mail to.  This is just letting them know you are having a party.  I’ll e-mail an example of it in a few minutes.  anyone who doesn’t e-mail will need a phone call.   Feel free to post it on facebook or twitter.
  • We will need to mail the invites about 2 weeks before the party.  So I’ll get the invites to you so we can send them out.  (or if you send them out get the labels from the host)  I find it works really well to mail the invites.  Will you be sure to mail one to me so that I know your guests got their invites?

I’m excited for you party.  I’m sure that we will have a great time.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me.  And good luck on the prize.  I’ll let you know next Monday who won.

7.  E-mail me with your list of hostess with the party ID number.
***You must have the names of your host and party ID submitted to me by Tuesday June 11th at 12:00 noon MST Time
Hints To Successful Summer Parties:
  • Fill up the dates that you are open early in the summer first.  The farther away a party is the more chance of it canceling.
  • During the summer the best time to do parties are weeknights mostly because people are out getting projects done during nice weather on the weekends.
  • Don’t forget that family reunions are a great place to do a little Thrive demonstration.
  • Where are you traveling? Slide in a Shelf Reliance party at your travel destination.
  • Host your own party and do a THRIVE new product review.  Inviting all of your existing customers to come and try the new products.   If you host your own party you will be entered for the drawing as well.  When I host my own party I really like to have a back to back party.  Thursday night and Saturday Morning work well for me.  I like this because if I do 2 almost everyone can make it.

How To Find New Thrive Life Consultants

I've had a lot of team members ask this last week for tips on enrolling / signing up new consultant.   I’ve been thinking about this a lot over the last few months and have given it a lot of thought.

Steps to building a team:

1.  Believe
·         That there are people out there looking for the opportunity.   Take it from me there are people out there looking for this exact opportunity, that know they want to be a consultant for Thrive Life and they are looking for you.   In the past month or so I have had 5 people contact me because they were looking for a consultant.
·         That this opportunity is the “Golden Ticket”.  Do you remember the old Charley and the Chocolate Factory, when all of the people are in a frenzy to find the golden ticket?  This opportunity is that good.  When you offer the opportunity to someone you are offering them the Golden Ticket.   This opportunity is a wonderful thing.  It is not a scam, not a pyramid.  It is a great blessing in many people’s life’s.  I am so glad that my enroller, Sariah, offered it to me and there are others out there that will be grateful that you offered it to them.
2.  Know your stuff
·         Learn about the opportunity
·         Understand the commission plan / calculator.
·         Know what it takes to be a successful consultant (time, money, know how, etc.)
·         KNOW what makes this opportunity unique and different from all others. When you are truly and sincerely passionate, that comes across!

3.     Keep it SIMPLE!
·         Show your potential future consultants (and hosts), that parties are fun, easy and simple. If they can see themselves doing what you do then they half way to signing up.
·         It is a good idea to point out how easy it is to hosts and guests.   Say something like “As we go through tonight’s party I want you to picture yourself doing what I’m doing”  and “The chicken salad took me 5 minutes to make from start to finish, no chicken to defrost and cook, no veggies to chop.  Nothing could be easier”

4. Talk about the opportunity

·         When speaking with guests one-on-one at the end of your parties make sure you mention EVERY opportunity available to them (the Q, hosting, consulting) after asking open ended questions. Don't rush and don't give up if they seem to say "no" RESOLVE their personal concerns about consulting (and / or the Q or hosting). Make eye contact, be sincere, take you time...don't rush.
·         Ask open questions and find out what is missing in their life that the opportunity might fill / answer. Are they lonely? Unfulfilled? Stressed about money? Worried about retirement? Etc etc. LISTEN, then fulfill the need.
·         Once you've listened, (really listened), tell them why you think they'd make a great consultant: "You know, you'd really make a great consultant b/c you ____________________"
·         Ask them to commit to SOMETHING even if they won't commit to becoming a consultant right then and there. "Will you enroll on my team tonight?" Will you make a list of questions you have about the opportunity and get it to me by tomorrow?" Will you come to a party I'm having next week so you can see just what I do as a consultant?"
·         FOLLOW UP! If you ask them to commit to something and they say yes, follow up within 48 hours!

20 Minute Refried Beans made from Instant Beans

I love instant beans.  Similar to instant rice, the beans have been cooked and the dried, allowing you to cook dry beans in 20 minutes or less, with no soaking required.  Ever since I found instant beans I have been switching over my food storage to contain instant beans instead of regular dry beans.

20 Minute Refried Beans
½         c. bacon, diced
      c.  Instant Pinto Beans
1          tbsp. Chopped dehydrated Onions
1          tsp. Iodized Salt
1          tsp. all-purpose seasoning blend
1          tsp. granulated garlic
4          c. water
1          tbsp. lime juice
¼         c.  freeze dried Shredded Cheddar Cheese, reconstituted (or fresh)

In a 2-quart saucepan, brown the bacon and remove from the pan.  Add instant pinto beans and stir to coat with bacon grease.  Add onions, salt, all-purpose seasoning, garlic and water.  Cook on low simmer for 20 minutes.  Add lime juice and puree mixture with a hand blender until reaches desired smoothness. Top with shredded cheese.
